Robin was a Nervous Ninny at Roo's Place!

Lets  just say that I was a bit nervous going to bed at Roo's Place this weekend.  It was the first time back since I was touched twice two weekends ago.  I did not think much about it until we went to bed.

Let me tell you what had happened there at Roo's Place this weekend.  I would call it an average weekend but it still turned out to be interesting with some physical evidence.  Jon had suggested once he heard the fire ban was lifted that we should go camping.  You know me.  So we did.  I know most people are not happy when they go camping to have rain but we were.  To see moisture all this week and then on our way up to Roo's Place made my heart happy.  It was heart breaking when I went earlier to Roo's Place and it was so dry.  Even the small spring in one of the ravines had dried up this spring which we have never seen before.

We had set up our camp and then the clouds rolled in again so we decided to sit it out in the car.  We kept the windows down until it rained real hard.  At one point Roo had started to do her grumble growl, sniffing the air and was watching the tree line to the right of the car.  I looked but was not able to see anything.  Which seems to be normal.  LOL  Probably 5-10 minutes after this a big buck comes out of the tree line in front of us.  He was so cautious and nervous!  He was acting like he knew something was up but could not figure out where.  He walked right into where Roo was looking.  Another buck followed after the first one.  He was acting the same way.

Once everything was dry enough to explore I went and checked several spots that I have been having things going on.  I went over to the glyph area to see if there were any changes and I could not detect anything but noticed something was added across from where I have had some exchanges.  There was a quartz rock right by a tree where in the past during the first and second summer I had been doing some exchanges with some glyphs right by an asterisk.  Since then the asterisk has disappeared and the exchanges moved to the current spot where my daughter Jennifer had made the first move to share.  I was gifted with a piece of quartz!  What I found interesting was there was no way there should have been a piece of quartz there.   I Know because I looked at the spot two weekends before and it was not there.  In June, I had done some rock hounding with my friends from Nebraska at a spot not too far from Roo's Place when they came for a visit.  Also I was told Cassie was gifted with quartz from the group the night before they left to go back to Nebraska but they did not say anything about finding some quartz here at this spot.  I think Cassie was not the only one gifted with some beautiful quartz.  I love rocks so getting one makes it special.

What a great way to start my weekend!  I went and looked for marbles but to be honest I was not expecting to find any.  It has been raining for over a week and likely if there were any they would have washed down into the bottom of the ravine.  Jon and I had heard what we thought were soft wood knocks off and on and then suddenly Jon asked me, "Do you think it is a clap instead of a knock?"  What we were hearing was not real loud and did not sound like wood on wood.  So Jon went into the trees over by one spot where we were hearing what we thought were knocks and did a clap.  It sounded exactly like what we were hearing!  I am thinking the softer sound is a clap instead of a wood knock.  I am amazed at how inventive they are and wonder if they change things up to see how we react?  Maybe to see if we notice the difference and how we will respond.

Once it got dark things did get a bit intense.  It hadn't been like this in a while.  Roo grumbled, growled, whined and tried to get into our laps many times.  I was hearing movements around us.  Roo watched all around and actually did some growls and a small woof at one point.  I took some pictures.  The first ones was without the flash with her trying to get in Jon's lap and then I used the flash when she would not sit or lay down but walked between Jon and I for a while.

As you can see she was a very worried dog.  I am pretty sure they came up real close to us when she did her "woof".  The next morning I found a 12 inch right foot print when it stepped into one of the run-off spots about 20 feet in front of our tent and fire pit.  It had toes but it is hard to see the toes because that part of the foot was on pine litter.

Where you see my blue water bottle on the left was the 12 inch right print.  There was another print not as clear that was a left  foot 12 inch print.  I measured heel to heel and it was 37 inches apart.  A small stride but in a clothes line pattern.

But that was not the only print I found!  I found 16  inch one over by where Jonathan a friend of mine who camped with me a couple of weekends before and saw the red eye shine.   It had also stepped into one of the run-offs from the rain.

Both of those prints were probably from the night before.  They were not there before it got dark.  Hmmm...Roo was telling me they were close.  LOL

So when I went to bed I was so nervous!  I was not expecting that.  I eventually made Jon get up and move closer to the door so I could move my cot to the middle of the tent.  Jon and I both heard something walk up to the tent and sniffed our tent.  Other than that nothing happened except for my imagination.  LOL  The next morning I found some deer tracks over by the fire pit.  It could have been deer or something tall and hairy that came up to the tent and sniffed.

Even though nothing happened to me in the tent this time it was OK.  It helped me to get my courage back.  To all who think I am fearless now know I am not so fearless.  I just try to swallow my fears and stand my ground or in this case keep in the middle of the tent.  LOL

So until next time my friends...

Roo's Place-Was not expecting what had happened

I have only camped at Roo's Place once by myself with my dog Roo.  Many times I have gone up and stayed there by myself for most of the day until Jon would show up a little after dark.  He would come up after doing patrol.  Or leave very early on Saturday morning and be back early evening.  When friends come I would be there before they get there or they would follow me up.  Once time my daughter and son-n-law spent hours trying to find Roo's Place.  We ended up having Jon get in the car and look for them on the forest road.  It is not an easy place to find.  Which is why we love the place.  I have always had someone sleeping in the tent with me and Roo.  Until this weekend.

Jon was not able to go camping with me and so I invited my friend Jonathan to come.  He had been wanting to go now for quite a while.  There are many people who would like to go but I have limited it to certain friends and family.  We don't want the place to get loved to death and the group may quit coming because of the people.  Plus I only want people who would NOT come across as a threat to them.  We do not allow weapons or electronics at Roo's Place.  We have bear mace for the bears and we have our camera.  So far the group seems to accept who we have brought with us and seemed curious.  They seemed to be more active when it is mainly women but we still have some interesting things happen when the guys are there.  Usually not as much or as intense but things do happen.

Jonathan has never seen eye shine.  Well, that had changed when he was at Roo's Place.  Which I was not expecting.  We usually get limited eye shine there and mainly later in the summer after we have been there several times.  This was only the second time camping there this summer.  Before it got dark I oriented him to where the horizon was and where the rocky outcroppings were located.  I also showed him where they usually come up to watch us.  This weekend reminded me strongly of the weekend Harriett and her husband Dick came a few years ago and he had his "Ah, Ha" moment.  Dick was a total non-believer until that night when he saw 2 sets of eye shine about 10 1/2 feet from him when he looked out of the camper.  He had many questions  and was trying to wrap his mind around what he had seen.  This also happened to Jonathan.  He knew about eye shine but was neutral about it.  Jonathan had to wrap his mind around what he had seen and analyze it.  He now knows what eye shine looks like.  LOL  That night, Jonathan had seen eye shine several times and at different spots around us.  One time he saw the red eye shine right in front of him moving to our right into the thicker part of the trees.  I had seen it moments after he had.  When we walked up to the forest road we had some very bright white eye shine watching us from the tree line across the forest road.  In the past Jon and I have seen some there.  This time it was very bright and much closer.  Then we had seen the red eye shine several times after that when we were sitting around the camp fire ring with our light posing as the campfire.  We were not able to have a campfire because of the fire ban.

Jonathan had pitched his tent about 10 feet from mine.  I had brought my small tent for Roo and I. I had mentioned earlier that I have always had another person in the tent with me except for one camping trip several years ago.  Did not think too much about this since Jonathan would be in his tent 10 feet away.  I would like to make a side note that for many years I have been known for not wanting to be touched when out camping.  LOL  It was a standing joke with several friends about this.  I usually camp in a big tent and sleep as close to the middle of the tent as possible.  Not that this had made any differences about being touched.  😟   Over the years, I have been touched 2 times with a possible 3rd time.  You can read about them in my earlier posts in this blog.  I have relaxed this stance but I am still not real keen on the whole touching thing.  Much to my nerves' dismay.  LOL

During the day we did explore the area and I showed him several of the structures, glyphs and where the marbles were found.  I also showed him across the ravine to where I had found prints and where we heard the rhymic knocking that was heard that first night camping there.  I have found that if you do some exploring in the area and make your presence known, we tend to have more stuff happen at night.  I was on record to not expect much and reminded Jonathan not to expect anything.  Then we had the great eye shine that night but then I was only expecting them come up to the tents, nothing else.  Which is normal there at Roo's Place.

Well...

We did hear them come up to the tents.  They seemed to walk very closely around Jonathan's tent and I heard them do this a couple of times.  They did come to my tent but that is normal for Roo's Place.  What they did twice is what I was not expecting.  Also Roo did something she hasn't done there in a long time.  She did single short frantic barks twice.  Both times before something happened to me.
You see a couple of minutes after she did the first single frantic bark I was in the process of turning from my right side to my left side.  As I was turning, it felt like something either grabbed the top of my right foot or touched real hard.  I did a small "Oh!" and just laid there trying to figure out what had happened.  I am positive something either grabbed or touched real hard when I moved.  I then moved closer to the middle of the small tent.  Jonathan said he heard me when I asked him if he heard me make any noises.  Only one time he said.  The second single frantic bark Roo did was a little later.  I was laying on my left side with my back to the tent wall.  SOMETHING POKED MY RIGHT SHOULDER!  I know that feeling because this had happened to me a few years ago at Central Colorado with another Investigator named Tony.  This is also in one of my earlier post on this blog.  I then proceeded to move Roo over and made sure I was in the middle of the tent.  Some how I went to sleep.  LOL

If you look at the picture above with the tents, the yellow one to the left is mine.  It has a rainfly.  I was perplexed about how either touch could have happened.  Especially the shoulder touch.  So I recreated the scene to see how this could have happened or if it was my imagination but I know I was touched!  I put my mattress with my sleeping bag back in place and then checked it out.  There is no doubt about the shoulder touch.  It had touched me even though there is the rainfly.  Where I was positioned it was possible.  Now the foot incident was a bit discerning to me.  I suspect it tried to grabbed my foot by reaching in under the rainfly.  I did not realize where my feet was positioned  it was right under the edge of the rainfly.  Very easy for it to happened and feasible.

To me this was a game changer here at Roo's Place.  This physical touching is a new dimension and makes me a bit nervous.  I was not expecting this and not sure how I feel.  The one thing I did realize as I was driving home from Roo's Place was that even though I had a friend there, I was alone in the tent with just Roo.  What does this mean?

I have had many weird and scary moments in my journey of discovery.  Many questions and some heart felt moments.  So where does this journey go in regards to Roo's Place?  The one thing I do know-I will continue to go to Roo's Place.  I am ready to go to the next level.  Whatever that means.

So my friends-

Unexpected Results at New Location called Moonshine

Have you ever had an unexpected result
when you were not expecting it?

In the middle of June this had happened when I was asked to go camping with a friend and his daughters at a location near where one of his daughters had a sighting.  We had explored in that location last fall and wanted to camp there.  This was our first chance to do so.  Any time someone asks me to go camping and do some Bigfoot exploring, I'm in.  LOL  So Jon, Roo and I joined Bryan and his two daughters.

It was love at first sight with Roo and the girls.  I think Roo would have brought them home with us if she could.  This weekend was a few first for the girls in regards to experiencing Bigfoot stuff.  They had an interest in Bigfoot because of their father Bryan.  They were eager to learn and had some good questions.  My kind of people.  Plus they knew how to play Phase 10.

Friday night not much happened except for someone or something opening one of the plastic tubs.  Then walked around the tents and the campsite.  We had no damage and nothing was missing.  Also we were under a fire ban.  So we did not have a campfire.  That was OK.  We still talked Squatch and about other things.

Saturday we did some exploring and then played some Phase 10.  It was the nighttime that was very interesting.  In this next picture look closely.  I thought our campsite was on a ridge and it went down to a ravine behind the campsite.  It does but it had something else I did not realized until later.  It made me realize how much our hairy forest friends use the environment to their advantage and we humans are very clueless.  LOL

Do you see the ridge?  It is close and almost the same height as our campsite.
It is about 40 yards away.  Remember that.

The moon was very pretty that night.  It was a very bright crescent shaped moon.  As we walked around on the forest road in the dark, I was trying to use my different settings to take photos in the dark.  I have not had much success but I liked to try.  One of the settings uses a flash before going off and it is a setting for taking pictures in the dark.  I tried to take a picture of my tent showing the glow of the small light I had turned on.  I wasn't able to take any good photos.  When we walked back to the campsite I told everyone how the moon looked cool and wanted to try to take a picture of it.  It was positioned at the back of the campsite to the left and 3/4 of the way up in the above picture.

I took a couple of pictures but they were blurry so I decided to try to take a picture of the moon with the dark setting that had a flash.  Mind you, all I was thinking of was trying to take a picture of the moon.  I did not think about if there were any Bigfoots watching us from that direction.  Earlier we had seen some white eye shine back across the forest road and behind the cars.  Not in this direction.

So I took a picture and was upset I did not have a picture of the moon!  So I took another one.  When I looked at what I took, I thought I got something that may have been eye shine!  So I took some more.  Then there was nothing in my last picture.  I was thinking we had one possibly 2 in the trees watching us.  I was pretty excited.  Then suddenly we had some red eye shine right in front of me.  Then it flared up and I saw both eyes.  One of the girls and I think Bryan were able to see the eye shine before it went away.   I personally think it was letting me know it was not happy with the flashes from my camera.  I told them I was sorry and will not do that again with my camera.  That red eye shine is in my top 5 of the best eye shine ever.  Again I was thinking they were in the trees.

We were pretty excited because both girls were able to see eye shine that night and one of them saw the red eye shine too.  They were perplexed because what would have made this eye shine?  We went through all of the possibilities and there was none.  I knew because I have seen it many times and does have a distinctive look to it.  Much like LED lights but twinkles and can flare up when you talk to it or go closer.  It is even more distinctive when you see it blink.  The girls were excited because they have now seen eye shine.  We were all excited about what we saw and I may have caught the eye shine on camera.  I would have to wait until I get home to check my photos on my computer.

We had a young small bear come into our campsite Sunday morning.  That was a first for me.  Bryan was able to scare it off.  It was behind my car.

It was Sunday morning when I realized that Bigfoot were not in the trees watching us with their eye shine!  There was a ridge about 40 yards away and a perfect spot to watch us or any campers there.  So we talked about coming back and named the location Moonshine.  Because I was trying to take pictures of the moon and got Bigfoot eye shine instead.  LOL

This will be the only time with me trying to get pictures like that.  I am not into trying to capture a photo of them or tricking them to get one.  The main reason is that I know they are real and my journey is to learn more about them.  Not to prove or make a circus out of them.  I want experiences with them and if lucky to build a positive relationship with them.  Unfortunately with me taking those pictures I have put myself at a disadvantage with them.  It will be my intent to NOT carry my camera around at night and to keep it in my pocket at the campsite.  I will take pictures of the beauty of Colorado and my beloved Roo or any physical evidence such as prints or structures.  I will have to make amends and hopefully I can do this correctly in their eyes.  I truly believe they are a wild human with human intelligence.  So I will have to appeal to their curiosity and their primate/hominid characteristics.  Make them realize that I am not a threat to their family.

If you want to see the pictures of the red eye shine they are not on the blog.  I did get 3 photos of red eye shine but I am choosing to keep them in my collection of evidence.  Why am I doing this?  Partly to show my intent of what I am about in my journey of discovery.  It is my personal journey and I am not doing this to prove anything.  Even if I had managed to get a photo of one, I would not share it.  I feel if I do share it then my intent and the direction of my journey will be not be what my heart says and what I want to accomplish.  My actions and the choices I make does color my intent.  How can I go back and try to establish a positive relationship with that group if I am secretly publishing the photos when they have no say over them?  I would not like that myself, so that is why I am choosing to keep the photos and not to publish them.

In my next post, I will be telling you about my next camping trip at Roo's Place.  On this camping trip, Jon did not go and only Roo and I was in my tent.  I think the group there had decided to take our relationship to the next level.  I am not sure I am ready.  Until the next post...

First Camping Trip to Roo's Place the Weekend of June 8

Three of my friends from Nebraska came to spend the weekend with me at Roo's Place.  They had such a fun time that they were wanting to come back.  I am glad they did.  I did warn them that usually the first camping weekend there are typically quiet.  It ended up being a good weekend not as busy with Bigfoot activity we sometimes get there but we had some action.

This was Cassie's first trip to Roo's Place so we showed her some of the structures that are very close.

We also found a print.

We had some knocks and eye shine each night.  We found a quartz bed not too far from Roo's Place.  Cassie loved the quartz!  In fact the last night they were there I wasn't with them.  I had to go home because I had to go to work on Monday.  It was hard to leave them there.  I have never had others stay without me there.  They were a little nervous but all was good.  When they got up in the morning there was some quartz left for Cassie!  I guess the group there thought she needed more and had gifted her with some.

She wasn't the only one that was given a gift...

As I came up from the structure where most of the marble stuff has happened, there was a feather right on the pathway.  It was not there 30 minutes before when I went down to the structure and I went the exact way.  This is the first for me to receive a feather from the group there at Roo's Place!  I have received feathers over the years from the group at my special spot.  But that is another location and another group.

So for the first 2018 camping weekend at Roo's Place had turned out to be more active than I had anticipated.  I even warned my friends not to expect much.  LOL

So my friends

SQUATCH ON!

My next camping trip was about 10 miles from Roo's Place where a friend's daughter had a sighting when she was about 11 years old.  This place has the potential to be as active as Roo's Place.  I can't wait to share that weekend with you.

Report from North Central Colorado

I am always amazed when I get unexpected reports of possible Bigfoot from the families at my school.  I don't advertise that I take reports and they come when I least expect them and from sources I would have never guessed.

This report comes from North Central Colorado from one of the state parks.  I would like to point out that wild areas that have woods, running water or fresh water and food such as deer may be a good place to look.  I have been in similar spots and have taken reports from the least likely areas because people assumed that Bigfoot will not be close to where people live.  That is not the case.  I am not saying they are in the big cities but more than likely in the outlying suburban areas that have room for them to hide and move around that have some wild areas close by.  I have investigated several areas you would consider urban.  One boy found a 16 inch print!  This was in his neighborhood and only about 5 miles from another report received of a visual a few months before!  So don't think outlying neighborhoods, parks and open spaces are not used by Bigfoot.  Remember they are primates and highly adaptable.  Dumpster diving and food left outside for pets are an easy way to eat with not much effort.  Plus if seen people will discount it as something else.  Which is good for our forest friends to be able to hide in plain sight and being a mythical creature.

A father came in one afternoon and wanted to speak to me privately at my school.  He wanted to ask me questions about something he had found while hiking with his family in North Central Colorado in one of the Colorado State Parks.  When he told me where the location was I knew he wanted to talk about Bigfoot.  That area is well known for Bigfoot activity.

He had seen a set of tracks going up the side of the mountain just up from the trail he was on.  They caught his attention and he hiked up to them.  It was not an easy walk to the prints.  Steep and rugged.  When he got to the prints he was amazed to see that the prints were bare foot with toes.  Only they were much bigger than his foot.  This father is 6 foot 6 inches tall and wears size 14 shoes!  He said when he put his foot next to the print it made his foot look like a child's foot.  He estimated that they were several inches longer and double the width!

I asked him if he saw or heard anything but he said no.  He also said this area is not used by people that much.  He would consider it a remote area and have been there several times before because there are not people there like in other areas of the park.

So now I have another family at my school that believe they are real.  Sometimes seeing something that cannot be explained and should not be there will make you think.  I have stopped trying to convinced people about the existence of Bigfoot.  Instances such as this and other happenings will change a person from a 0 to believer when it happens.

Its funny how an incident/finding/sighting changes a person perception of Bigfoot.

I have another report I will share with you soon.  Hopefully I will be able to get into the woods to Roo's Place soon.  I am anxious and getting antsy about going camping there.  I have my fingers crossed it will be in the early part of June.  Usually it is quiet there until June.

A Bigfoot Report from a family in the 1990's by the Air Force Academy

It was quite refreshing to receive this report many years ago.  What is unique about this family was that you don't have to point out the existence of Bigfoot.  In fact this knowledge has been passed to the next generation in this family much like the early settlers.  Who talked about the boogie man or MoMo or another name that these rural families had interactions with for years.  This report came out of an area not too far from the Air Force Academy which has their own stories of the "watcher".

There is a line of smaller mountains that follow from the north of Denver down to just south of Colorado Springs.  Known as the front range.  Most of this wilderness is part of Pike National Forest.  There are many names that historically could have pointed to Bigfoot there.  Such as Devil's Head or Monkey Creek.  There are many reports coming out of this forest and we still receive some each year.

Now this family lived right at the edge of Pike National Forest.  In fact there is a ravine and creek right on the property.  They lived on 5 heavily forested acres.  They were so private that there were no window coverings anywhere on the house.  This interaction was ongoing for over 5 years. They had bear, mountain lion and other wildlife visit their home continually while they lived there.  They also had a group of Bigfoot that would visit.  The one main difference between the wildlife and Bigfoot visits was how their dogs reacted.  When they would hear from a distance a whoop, the dogs would cower and hide in the kennel until the next day.  What did these dogs do when mountain lion or bear came by?  They barked at them.  When the family weren't sure what or who was out there they would see what the dogs were doing.  They knew it was Bigfoot when the dogs were whining and hiding in their kennels or were barking like crazy at wildlife they smelled or heard.  Smart dogs.  There were several incidents that stood out and was shared with me.  The first one I would like to talk about was the TV incident.  I still smile when I think of this story.  I think a group of Bigfoot became addicted to TV.  LOL

Remember I said there were no curtains or window coverings at this house?  One time while the family was watching TV, the side of the house right behind them was slapped when they had changed the channel.  The TV was directly across from the window that was very close to where they heard the slap.

Another time the son called dad up to his room to tell him that one was looking in his window.  Dad quickly grabbed a flashlight and flashed it outside the window and saw what he thought was a younger one.  Even though the window was on the second floor the pitch of the roof was right by this window and there was room for one to stand there by the window.  Perfect for a peeping Bigfoot.

The daughter refused to go outside when she was by herself to feed the dogs when it was dark outside.  She said she was too scared and something was watching her.

Sometimes early in the afternoon they would hear a call or whoop from the mountains and knew they would have visitors that evening.  They knew when they got close enough because that was when the dogs would go and hide in their kennels.  In fact the dad would answer them back sometimes.

Now why would a family have these stories and have kept them within the family?  Because they knew no one would believe them.  The reason why I knew about the stories was because the grandson was at my school and in my program.  He shared with me about his family believing in Bigfoot and begged his grandpa to share them with me.  This family is college educated and working in the corporate world.  Not what you would typically think that would have these interactions.

This picture was taken just north of where this family lived.  About 2 miles away.

That bump in the night you hear outside your window may be trying to watch TV.

2013 Possible Bigfoot Report that scared 2 Girls

While I am waiting for my camping season to start at Roo's Place, I will tell you about a report I received in 2013.  What is amazing about this report was that the mother did not know I have been investigating this location.  What a small world we have sometimes.  Lets just say I was not surprised it happened.

I work at an Elementary School.  One of the EA's (educational assistant) who sometimes would work for me at the Before/After care at the school approached me.  She has 2 daughters who at the time this happened was 12 and 9.  This happened just a couple of months before.  She asked me if I thought there were Bigfoot at this location.  It surprised me that she asked about Bigfoot.  One note is that this family camp and hike all the time.  She had something weird happened that scared her daughters and was puzzled because she felt it was in an area that seemed wild but thought it wasn't.  I asked her where it was and she told me.  I tried not to react since I am in this area all the time and very familiar with the location.  I knew exactly where they were and to be honest not surprised it happened.  The group there were very mischievous that day.

The mother and her 2 daughters decided to go to an area to enjoy a nice afternoon.  She had picked this area so the girls could play while she would read a book.  The weather had been chilly and this was the first warm day in a while.  It was not too far away and an easy drive.  FYI-They have not been back since then either.

This is her story:

While she sat on the bridge reading her book, her daughters were playing in the creek.  The girls were having a wonderful time and all were enjoying the warm weather.  A little while later the 12 year old went to her mom and asked her if she is hearing some murmurs or mumblings.  Mom then told her no and said to go play in the water.  She came back a while later very upset and looking all around.  She then asked mom if she was now hearing the murmurs/mumblings.  Mom told her no.  Then the 12 year old pointed to the willows and said she was hearing it from there and asked her what it could be.  Mom then was a bit impatient with her and told her that where they were was a safe area and nothing will hurt her.  She then told her to ignore it and go play with her sister.  Then a while later the 9 year old came up to mom all teary eyed and scared.  She was looking all around her and was visibly ready to run.  The mom then asked her what was the matter.  At this point she was thinking her suburban girls were acting a bit fearful of what she would consider common natural things.  The 9 year old tearfully told mom they had to leave right now.  There was something in there that scares her and they needed to go.  At this point mom was thinking coyote or something like this but they have coyote at home and the girls were very familiar with them.  She begged mom that they need to leave.  The 12 year old came over and agreed.  She said that every time she heard the murmurs she would stop to listen but heard nothing until she started to play again.  Because both girls at this point were on the verge of hysteria she decided to pack up and then they left.  The whole way back the girls were watching the willows and hanging onto their mom.  Mom felt like it was a long walk back to the car.

Here is a picture of where this had happened:
Notice the willow all around.  I took this picture when there were no leaves and it was very hard to see into there.  Now imagine this with leaves like when they were there.  No one can see in there.  It is that thick and dense.

Let me show you something that was found a few months before:

This is a 14 inch print with toes.  This was found not far from where the girls had the weird experience.  I have found several prints in the area including handprints.  I also had a sighting 3 years ago of a reddish brown one close by.  Am I surprised when the mom came to me?  No.

Is this a Bigfoot related experience?  In my opinion it was.  This whole episode happened over a couple of hours.  Was one seen?  I am not sure.  I suspect the 9 year old saw one but she refuses to talk about it.  Both girls were adamant that there was something in the willows watching them.  They felt it was not something they should have seen/heard there.  For me to receive a report like this out of the blue was so fascinating and is one of the reasons why I am on this journey of discovery.  Would the group there do something like this and I will say yes.  Over the years many unexpected and sometimes scary things has happened.

What an amazing world we live in.  Sometimes a little scary for some but still a fascinating world.

Day Visit to Roo's Place

Winter this year here in Colorado has been pretty much non-existent.  When it did snow it was only for a dusting or a few measly inches.  I know you can see snow in the pictures but normally what you see would be under 4+ feet of snow with a couple of patches of the ground peeking out because the sun had melted it.  So far not this year.  This means that Colorado will probably have a long DRY, hot summer with fire bans.  Other places in the mountains have received some snow but below average.  One positive aspect of fire bans/restrictions will be that most people won't camp if they are unable to have a camp fire.  I will come camping regardless.  I will just put one of my small battery powered lamps in the fire ring.  LOL  Another positive thing that has happened to us when there had been fire restrictions were some unnerving incidents.  I am thinking with the lack of a camp fire and since we do not use lanterns or headlamps to light up our campsite, it will make it very dark with only a small camp light in the camp fire ring.  Maybe we will get a run by or some in the trees ringing the campsite watching us.  Roo will let us know.

With the lack of snow, Jon and I had decided to make a day trip up to Roo's Place.  We figured we had a good chance of being able to explore for the day there.  We were right.  We had no problems getting there.  In fact it looked like late May not the first weekend in April.

There were no signs of people being in there.  We also had seen no signs of our hairy friends.  We looked around to see if we could see any marbles but did not see any.  Where the glyph was located was one of the few spots that was under about 4 inches of snow.  I did not disturb it.  I will wait until it melts and look.  I was hoping to find some prints but nothing.  I also noticed there was not much in the way of tracks of other animals including squirrels or deer/elk which I would consider unusual.

There are tracks now.  Roo was quite happy to run around the place and leave some.

Even though it was just a day looking around and not finding anything, it still was a day in the forest.  Maybe next time I visit there will be some prints showing they had come to check to see what we were up to.  You never know.

Camping season is getting closer!

Bigfoot Camping in Nebraska

Did you know how cold it is in Nebraska in March?  Nebraska was having mild weather until the weekend we go to camp there.  That is what I called the "Robert's luck".  LOL  I had a heater in my tent, a fleece liner in my sleeping bag and 2 blankets and I still was cold.  When we checked the temperature mid morning is was 30 degrees!  It also rained and sleet very early.  Thank goodness our tent was dry when we packed up.  It started to rain/sleet at the very end.  Let me just say that my new sleeping bag was a big disappointment.  It was rated for much colder but it did not keep me warm.

Well, despite the cold it was a lot of fun.  Some of my Nebraska friends camped with Jon. Roo and I.  We even had a young man we met at the conference come and camp with us with his older brother.  It was great.  Brats always taste better cooked over the campfire.  It does get me to think a camper may not be a bad idea sometimes.

In one of my earlier posts I had talked about the sighting from two 17 year young men.  That was where we camped.  In fact we camped right where they saw the red eye shine.  We walked around and explored this location.  What is great about this spot was the location.  Lots of trees, deer and the Platte River.  Easy in and easy out.  Do I think they live here?  No.  I suspect they use this place to hunt and to move around.  We did find some prints down in the cattails.  Perfect place to hide to ambush ducks and other water fowls.  It looked like they dug some up too.  They weren't real big prints but we know they were fairly recent since we had a hard rain with several inches the day before.

Cassie has a good eye and was the one who found the 2 prints.

It was pretty quiet for the evening and night.  Tammie and Janice said there was the sounds of soft pings hitting the side of the camper.  Much like small pebbles hitting the sides.  I suspect they do that to see if we are awake.  They may have been there but didn't do anything since we just announced we know they are there with my whistle and calls.  I did not see any eye shine or hear anything.  I expected that.  It was our first time in there.  I am going to try to go in there around the same time of year the boys had their sighting.  Maybe I will be lucky.  Finding those prints with toes in the cattails was a great find!  I want to go back again.

What is it about marbles?

I took my dog Roo hiking at my special spot about a week ago.  I take her with me when I go down into the creek area.  I like to check several spots along the creek for prints.  I have found in the past prints during winter time.  So when it is too slippery and icy up by the cliffs I go down to the creek area.  There seems to be about 3 miles of the creek where I find most of my prints.  This morning I checked some areas along the creek that I don't check so closely but had decided to take some pictures of the ice on the creek before it melted away.  I came  across a couple of prints that made me think Bigfoot but I have some reservations.  I will share them so you can look at them.  One had someone stepped on it but missed the toes.  LOL  The toes were wide and big.  The span was about 6-7 inches across.  Much bigger than a bear and straight across like you would expect for a Bigfoot not a human.  The other was a slid mark and I could see no treds from a boot.  It looked like toes marks.  Plus there was some mud that was thrown to the right of the slid mark like the toes had grabbed the mud and when it picked up its foot the mud was released to the right much like a bare foot would do versus a booted foot.

These were the only prints I found on this day.  I was excited by my finds.  They really stretched my knowledge and made me think.

So about 1 1/2 hours later I decided to walk back to leave.  I prefer to go early in the morning because I seemed to find more stuff when I do.   Roo was getting tired and I wanted to check my pictures when I got home.

Guess what I found on the trail?  A white marble!!!  It was not there 1 1/2 hours ago.

This is something new for this spot.  The whole marble sharing at this location was always up by the cliff area and also at another location called Roo's Place.  Not here down by the creek.

FYI-A couple of weekends before when I was in there with Roo, it was a difficult time for Roo.  She was nervous and indicating that there were Bigfoots close by.   In fact we smelled the skunky dead smell as soon as we started on the trail.  We heard knocks, some type of calls (not sure how to describe them) and we had some rocks thrown at us.  The last rock was about 4 inches long, white and landed about 10 feet to my right as we left the tree line. Lets just say Roo was very happy to leave that morning.

A bit of history:

I have been at this location since 2011.  I am a known person but I was not at this location much last year.  Due to many reasons including my health and spending time with my family.  So I had decided for 2018 I was going to make an effort to be at this location as much as possible.  This place holds a special place in my heart.  I had my first sighting, whoop, whistles, grunt, growls and prints at this location.  I also had found a massive shelter in 2012 up by the cliffs.  Plus I had learned to gift and share glyphs.  One of my favorite memories was being whooped in as I climbed up towards the cliffs.  They were ahead of me and far enough ahead in the trees that I could hear them whooping but not see them.  This location is a wonderful spot and I am quite protective of it.  You are welcome to go back and read my early posts about this place.

So why the rock throwing and the marble?

They know who I am.  I always announce myself when out exploring.  I do my whistle and my calls.  Much like someone ringing a doorbell when visiting.  I figure I am the one visiting and need to let them know I am there.  Plus if you go enough they will recognize you when you have the same routine.  I know that I haven't been in there as much as before so it is what I would call getting reacquainted time.  The smell, calls and rock throwing was to gauge my reactions to see if I am still the same and also to remind Roo of who lives there.  So when I went back and found the prints, it was letting me know they are still there.  By using the marbles I feel was their way to let me know they are there and know who I am.  I know there will be many who may scoff at this but I don't really mind or care because I am the one who has history with this group.  I have many memories both full of wonder and some scary ones.  I am not one to think everything is Bigfoot but some of the stuff does point to them because of what I have experienced, seen and found.  I am secure in what I know.  What I find interesting is when good friends who I trust who are experiencing the same things or similar experiences.  That points to me that I am on the right track.

So what will happen next?

2017 at Roo's Place-We never know what to expect there!

We started our camping season at Roo's Place at the end of May.  Not much really happened but we have found that May and early June seems to be quieter there.  It tends to storm quite a bit during this time of year.  Even though it was quiet it was good to start our camping season at Roo's Place.

The next time we went camping at Roo's Place was in June.
It was a little different.

I had decided to go camping with just Roo and myself.  At the last minute I grabbed the camping gear Saturday morning and went up.  Once there I did my normal routine.  Every time I camp there I always do this same routine-Whistle, whoop and then one of my special calls.  I figure it is my way of ringing the front door to let them know I am visiting.  What I find interesting-Roo is fine until I do this and then she wants to get back into the car or hide in the tent.  LOL

Then I had set up camp.  Once I was done I sat down to do some reading.  In the past when I would do this some interesting things would happen.  This time was no different.  I sat down close to the tent facing it under the giant pine tree that I love.  While reading I noticed that Roo was very restless and kept moving and positioning herself after looking into the tree line several times.   She would look at a certain spot and then move herself to be between me and what she looked at.  At this point I figured we may have a visitor.  I told her to lay down and relax.  Except she wouldn't relax.  She kept watching the trees.  Then she was watching to my right very intently.  I kept reading.  Then Roo got up and laid to my right, next to my right foot.   I would say a couple of minutes later to my right as I was reading my book, out of the corner of my eye I saw a large black upright shape race by!.  About 15-20 feet away!!  I did not hear it until it went by me.  It was quick and then it was gone.  Roo jumped up and I grabbed her and told her to sit down.  I sat there until my heart quit racing.  At this point I realized it was probably gone because Roo was more relaxed and not watching the trees.  So I decided to keep reading.  A while later Roo got up and sat to my left almost behind me watching the trees again.  Then I began to hear some primate sounds much like holler monkeys and also some that sounded like chimps when they are loud.  At this point I was nervous.  Trying to decide what to do.  It was just Roo and me.  If we had not had the run-by then I would not be so worried.   I walked back up to the forest road and walked until I had enough bars to text Jon.  I asked him to come camping.  I wasn't going to leave but wanted Jon there with me.  If he did not come then I had decided that Roo and I would sleep in the car.  Jon did text me back and said he would be there in a few hours.  So I had the rest of the afternoon to myself.  So I did some exploring around the ravine on the north part of the campsite.  I did notice how one of the tree breaks was pointing to a giant X.  I had not noticed that before.  I also looked more carefully at another structure and realized that from the angle of the break, it could not have been broken by another tree.  Plus I also noticed that many of the structures here at this location had a tree break either as part of the structure or was very close to it.  I will keep an eye open to see if this can be found at other locations.

This tree break is not completely broken but bent so that the tree is still alive.

As you can see the break is pointing to this giant X.

This structure is very close to the tree break that is pointing to the giant X.

What a weekend!  It seems like when I relax and start to read, I have activity.  Another detail is that Jon is not there.  Either he is off exploring or haven't arrived yet.
Hmmm...

We had invited some friends to come for the long July 4th weekend.  I had gone up early with Jon and one friend.  I got there first.  The first thing I noticed was Roo's collapsible water dish was in the middle of the pathway to the campsite.  That was strange.  It should have been in our camping equipment.  If not there it would have been by the pine tree where we kept her bowls while camping.  I must have forgotten to pack it away when we left about 10 days before.  Side note-I always pack her stuff in her own duffle bag.  It should have not been there on the pathway.
After taking pictures and checking all around the campsite, I decided to keep the bowl there so Jon could see it when he arrived.

Later on, Jon and our friend Paco went to do some exploring and had found a print on an ant hill.
It was already getting erased by the ants but we could see the toes in the print.

It was hard to see in our Colorado soil which is decomposing granite.
We were very lucky to find this print.

The next day when my Nebraska friends came...

They slept in my tent with Roo and I.  My daughters had set up a tent to the right of the my tent and we have never set one there before.  It was not too far from where the year before I had the quarter-sized rock thrown at me that my daughter saw come out of the trees towards me and hit my chair I was sitting in.  You can read that in one of my earlier post from 2016 year.  Jon's tent was set apart and back from us.  There were trees all around us and a massive one between my tent and my daughters' tent.

Later that night, I had decided to go into the tent to go to sleep.  Roo is my shadow and was coming with me.  Jon, my daughters, and Harriett were already in their tents.  Roo was acting weird that whole evening, anxiously looking at certain points around us.  I knew we had some visitors that probably came in for a peek.  We haven't had this many with us before and there were a lot of women.  As I approached the tent, Roo was not too keen to come with me and then made a weird whimper.  I happened to see something large upright move from the back of my tent over to the back of my daughters' tent.  What was interesting was that one of the my Nebraska friends was close by and saw it move too.

When Jon and my daughters left the next day it was just the 4 women there with Roo.  We did some exploring and I showed them some cool things that I knew they wanted to see.  At night we had some eye shine and small rocks thrown at me.  I had set up my screen tent for us to sit in because the black flies were bad.  I warned them that they like to throw stuff at me.  So off and on all evening every night a small rock or small pine cone would hit the screen right by my head.  LOL  We all laughed about it.

Then the last night...

We stayed up late except for Harriett.  She can't stay awake past 9:00 pm.  We had some eye shine behind us then a few minutes later Connie saw an arm with long hair put something that was also dark in a branch much higher than us.  Her impression it was a baby.  Then we talked and laughed.  Around 1:30 am we could hear some whistling coming from the bottom of the ravine in the direction where I had heard rhythmic knocking 2 summers ago.  We heard it come up and we were wondering what bird besides an owl would be out and whistling at 1:30 in the morning?!?  We could tell it stop but was still whistling.  Then we realized it was not a bird and it whistling my tune!  This tune is my special tune I do when I go there.  I use this tune to announce myself everywhere I go squatching.  I just never heard it coming from something else!  I decided to take a picture of Roo while the whistling was going on.  She just sat there and watched much like she did when we had the rhythmic knocking.  I then decided to try to record part of the whistling but it stopped as soon as I turned my camera to record and faced it to where it was coming from.  This lasted for about 4-5 minutes.

I do want to say that when I had first got to the campsite that weekend, Roo did something she had never done before.  EVER!  She charged something that was in the trees/brushes.  I could not see what it was.  I quickly called her back.  I am not sure what it was.  I did not see or hear anything run off like a bear or mountain lion or deer.  I told her not to do that again just in case it was a Bigfoot.  I had done my whistles and calls several minutes before and had looked around for prints because I was wondering about how Roo's bowl ended up on the pathway.  This is one of many things that makes this place interesting.

I love Roo's Place.  LOL  I never am sure what and could happen when I camp there.

The last 2017 camping trip I will be talking about happened in September.  We had invited some friends from Utah.  They had camped with us a couple of years before and wanted to come and camp with us again.  They brought their young adult son with them.  It was a fun time.  Again we had eye shine watching us and Roo letting us know when they came too close.  We took them over on the other side of the ravine where there are some structures and also where we heard the rhythmic knocking 2 summers ago.  Rob had found a 13 inch print and then I spotted what at first I thought was a really weird foot print.  Then I realized it was a knuckle print!  In my picture I put my hand above it without touching the ground to show how similar it was to my knuckle.  In reality it was much bigger than my hand.

Then I found a 13 inch print almost exactly where I had heard the whistling in July.

When I had planned this weekend with Maida, I told her to bring a book to read.  That I was going to send the guys off while we read and see what happens.  Well...we did this and...

I was facing the ravine where I found that 13 inch print.  So we sat and read.  After a while Roo got restless and started to look around.  I nudged Maida and told her to keep reading but watch from the side of her eyes for movement.  I got Roo to laid back down but she was watching the tree line again.  In fact she was watching to the right of Maida.  I glanced up and saw a black upright figure watching us.  It was right next to a tree.  I told Maida what I saw and she was so upset that she could not see it unless she turned her head.  It quickly left and then we talked for a while.  We waited a while before going over there.  From what we can figure it was about 40 yards away and about 7 feet tall.  The photo is where I saw the figure.  No, there is not one in the picture.  It was taken after it had left.

Remember the marble thing we had going on at Roo's Place?
We did not receive any in the 2017 year but...

We had something interesting.  My daughter Jennifer had started to go camping with us.  She says she is not really interested but she had seen the rock fly out of the tree line and hit my chair.  She had heard some howls one night that Jon and I did not hear.  She said it was not a wolf or coyote.  It was deep and very long.  It kept going on and on.  She said Roo got up and was listening to it too.  She had seen the structures which without me saying anything said they look purposely made.  She had made a glyph the summer of 2016 where we had found an asterisk.  During the summer of 2016, I  had some exchanges of glyphs.  Which you can read in my earlier posts.  Nothing happened after Jennifer had made the glyph in 2016 but I always checked it when I went to Roo's Place.  You never know.  She had made a triangle and over time you can tell it had been moved a little from weather and deer but it was still there.  So the weekend we had our friends from Utah visit, something was added next to Jennifer's glyph.  You will see in the picture the new glyph.   It is something I have never seen before...

It was to the right of Jennifer's triangle.
I also took a close up of the glyph.
See how careful it was to put it together?
This was purposely made!  It was not there a month ago.

What do you think?

I never know what to expect at Roo's Place.  There are several points that I have learned from Roo's Place:
  • Don't expect anything.  Go to enjoy camping and being out in the forest.
  • For some reason they are tolerant of Roo.  They scare her and make her uneasy but they haven't tried to hurt her.  I think they let her know who is in charge.  We do not allow her to bark or chase wildlife.
  • They seemed to be curious of people we bring.  Especially women.
  • They are curious-several times at night once we are in our tent when some of us are asleep, we have had our containers opened, they have touched utensils that are hanging up (we could hear them doing this), after a storm trying to peek in the tent (that is in one of my earlier post), them looking in our cars (hand prints on windows) and a lit up balloon licked.
  • They will approach the campsite when we are there.  Especially when I am alone and occupied such as reading.
  • Don't try to go after them or react.
  • Our mindset is go there to camp and if they want to visit they are welcome to come without fear of us trying to trick them or get something from them.  I am a visitor in their home and will respect their right to be there.
  • I truly feel that the key with our forest friends is not the technology or tricking them or trying to hurt them but to establish a mutual respect where they may be curious about the weird hairless people without fear.  I want nothing from them.  I just want to learn more about them.  This takes time and patience.  Not many are willing to do this but I feel this is the key.
I have another post I will be doing and you won't believe it has to do with marbles!  I will share that next time.

SQUATCH ON !  My friends!!!!
