Robin was a Nervous Ninny at Roo's Place!

Lets  just say that I was a bit nervous going to bed at Roo's Place this weekend.  It was the first time back since I was touched twice two weekends ago.  I did not think much about it until we went to bed.

Let me tell you what had happened there at Roo's Place this weekend.  I would call it an average weekend but it still turned out to be interesting with some physical evidence.  Jon had suggested once he heard the fire ban was lifted that we should go camping.  You know me.  So we did.  I know most people are not happy when they go camping to have rain but we were.  To see moisture all this week and then on our way up to Roo's Place made my heart happy.  It was heart breaking when I went earlier to Roo's Place and it was so dry.  Even the small spring in one of the ravines had dried up this spring which we have never seen before.

We had set up our camp and then the clouds rolled in again so we decided to sit it out in the car.  We kept the windows down until it rained real hard.  At one point Roo had started to do her grumble growl, sniffing the air and was watching the tree line to the right of the car.  I looked but was not able to see anything.  Which seems to be normal.  LOL  Probably 5-10 minutes after this a big buck comes out of the tree line in front of us.  He was so cautious and nervous!  He was acting like he knew something was up but could not figure out where.  He walked right into where Roo was looking.  Another buck followed after the first one.  He was acting the same way.

Once everything was dry enough to explore I went and checked several spots that I have been having things going on.  I went over to the glyph area to see if there were any changes and I could not detect anything but noticed something was added across from where I have had some exchanges.  There was a quartz rock right by a tree where in the past during the first and second summer I had been doing some exchanges with some glyphs right by an asterisk.  Since then the asterisk has disappeared and the exchanges moved to the current spot where my daughter Jennifer had made the first move to share.  I was gifted with a piece of quartz!  What I found interesting was there was no way there should have been a piece of quartz there.   I Know because I looked at the spot two weekends before and it was not there.  In June, I had done some rock hounding with my friends from Nebraska at a spot not too far from Roo's Place when they came for a visit.  Also I was told Cassie was gifted with quartz from the group the night before they left to go back to Nebraska but they did not say anything about finding some quartz here at this spot.  I think Cassie was not the only one gifted with some beautiful quartz.  I love rocks so getting one makes it special.

What a great way to start my weekend!  I went and looked for marbles but to be honest I was not expecting to find any.  It has been raining for over a week and likely if there were any they would have washed down into the bottom of the ravine.  Jon and I had heard what we thought were soft wood knocks off and on and then suddenly Jon asked me, "Do you think it is a clap instead of a knock?"  What we were hearing was not real loud and did not sound like wood on wood.  So Jon went into the trees over by one spot where we were hearing what we thought were knocks and did a clap.  It sounded exactly like what we were hearing!  I am thinking the softer sound is a clap instead of a wood knock.  I am amazed at how inventive they are and wonder if they change things up to see how we react?  Maybe to see if we notice the difference and how we will respond.

Once it got dark things did get a bit intense.  It hadn't been like this in a while.  Roo grumbled, growled, whined and tried to get into our laps many times.  I was hearing movements around us.  Roo watched all around and actually did some growls and a small woof at one point.  I took some pictures.  The first ones was without the flash with her trying to get in Jon's lap and then I used the flash when she would not sit or lay down but walked between Jon and I for a while.

As you can see she was a very worried dog.  I am pretty sure they came up real close to us when she did her "woof".  The next morning I found a 12 inch right foot print when it stepped into one of the run-off spots about 20 feet in front of our tent and fire pit.  It had toes but it is hard to see the toes because that part of the foot was on pine litter.

Where you see my blue water bottle on the left was the 12 inch right print.  There was another print not as clear that was a left  foot 12 inch print.  I measured heel to heel and it was 37 inches apart.  A small stride but in a clothes line pattern.

But that was not the only print I found!  I found 16  inch one over by where Jonathan a friend of mine who camped with me a couple of weekends before and saw the red eye shine.   It had also stepped into one of the run-offs from the rain.

Both of those prints were probably from the night before.  They were not there before it got dark.  Hmmm...Roo was telling me they were close.  LOL

So when I went to bed I was so nervous!  I was not expecting that.  I eventually made Jon get up and move closer to the door so I could move my cot to the middle of the tent.  Jon and I both heard something walk up to the tent and sniffed our tent.  Other than that nothing happened except for my imagination.  LOL  The next morning I found some deer tracks over by the fire pit.  It could have been deer or something tall and hairy that came up to the tent and sniffed.

Even though nothing happened to me in the tent this time it was OK.  It helped me to get my courage back.  To all who think I am fearless now know I am not so fearless.  I just try to swallow my fears and stand my ground or in this case keep in the middle of the tent.  LOL

So until next time my friends...

Roo's Place-Was not expecting what had happened

I have only camped at Roo's Place once by myself with my dog Roo.  Many times I have gone up and stayed there by myself for most of the day until Jon would show up a little after dark.  He would come up after doing patrol.  Or leave very early on Saturday morning and be back early evening.  When friends come I would be there before they get there or they would follow me up.  Once time my daughter and son-n-law spent hours trying to find Roo's Place.  We ended up having Jon get in the car and look for them on the forest road.  It is not an easy place to find.  Which is why we love the place.  I have always had someone sleeping in the tent with me and Roo.  Until this weekend.

Jon was not able to go camping with me and so I invited my friend Jonathan to come.  He had been wanting to go now for quite a while.  There are many people who would like to go but I have limited it to certain friends and family.  We don't want the place to get loved to death and the group may quit coming because of the people.  Plus I only want people who would NOT come across as a threat to them.  We do not allow weapons or electronics at Roo's Place.  We have bear mace for the bears and we have our camera.  So far the group seems to accept who we have brought with us and seemed curious.  They seemed to be more active when it is mainly women but we still have some interesting things happen when the guys are there.  Usually not as much or as intense but things do happen.

Jonathan has never seen eye shine.  Well, that had changed when he was at Roo's Place.  Which I was not expecting.  We usually get limited eye shine there and mainly later in the summer after we have been there several times.  This was only the second time camping there this summer.  Before it got dark I oriented him to where the horizon was and where the rocky outcroppings were located.  I also showed him where they usually come up to watch us.  This weekend reminded me strongly of the weekend Harriett and her husband Dick came a few years ago and he had his "Ah, Ha" moment.  Dick was a total non-believer until that night when he saw 2 sets of eye shine about 10 1/2 feet from him when he looked out of the camper.  He had many questions  and was trying to wrap his mind around what he had seen.  This also happened to Jonathan.  He knew about eye shine but was neutral about it.  Jonathan had to wrap his mind around what he had seen and analyze it.  He now knows what eye shine looks like.  LOL  That night, Jonathan had seen eye shine several times and at different spots around us.  One time he saw the red eye shine right in front of him moving to our right into the thicker part of the trees.  I had seen it moments after he had.  When we walked up to the forest road we had some very bright white eye shine watching us from the tree line across the forest road.  In the past Jon and I have seen some there.  This time it was very bright and much closer.  Then we had seen the red eye shine several times after that when we were sitting around the camp fire ring with our light posing as the campfire.  We were not able to have a campfire because of the fire ban.

Jonathan had pitched his tent about 10 feet from mine.  I had brought my small tent for Roo and I. I had mentioned earlier that I have always had another person in the tent with me except for one camping trip several years ago.  Did not think too much about this since Jonathan would be in his tent 10 feet away.  I would like to make a side note that for many years I have been known for not wanting to be touched when out camping.  LOL  It was a standing joke with several friends about this.  I usually camp in a big tent and sleep as close to the middle of the tent as possible.  Not that this had made any differences about being touched.  😟   Over the years, I have been touched 2 times with a possible 3rd time.  You can read about them in my earlier posts in this blog.  I have relaxed this stance but I am still not real keen on the whole touching thing.  Much to my nerves' dismay.  LOL

During the day we did explore the area and I showed him several of the structures, glyphs and where the marbles were found.  I also showed him across the ravine to where I had found prints and where we heard the rhymic knocking that was heard that first night camping there.  I have found that if you do some exploring in the area and make your presence known, we tend to have more stuff happen at night.  I was on record to not expect much and reminded Jonathan not to expect anything.  Then we had the great eye shine that night but then I was only expecting them come up to the tents, nothing else.  Which is normal there at Roo's Place.

Well...

We did hear them come up to the tents.  They seemed to walk very closely around Jonathan's tent and I heard them do this a couple of times.  They did come to my tent but that is normal for Roo's Place.  What they did twice is what I was not expecting.  Also Roo did something she hasn't done there in a long time.  She did single short frantic barks twice.  Both times before something happened to me.
You see a couple of minutes after she did the first single frantic bark I was in the process of turning from my right side to my left side.  As I was turning, it felt like something either grabbed the top of my right foot or touched real hard.  I did a small "Oh!" and just laid there trying to figure out what had happened.  I am positive something either grabbed or touched real hard when I moved.  I then moved closer to the middle of the small tent.  Jonathan said he heard me when I asked him if he heard me make any noises.  Only one time he said.  The second single frantic bark Roo did was a little later.  I was laying on my left side with my back to the tent wall.  SOMETHING POKED MY RIGHT SHOULDER!  I know that feeling because this had happened to me a few years ago at Central Colorado with another Investigator named Tony.  This is also in one of my earlier post on this blog.  I then proceeded to move Roo over and made sure I was in the middle of the tent.  Some how I went to sleep.  LOL

If you look at the picture above with the tents, the yellow one to the left is mine.  It has a rainfly.  I was perplexed about how either touch could have happened.  Especially the shoulder touch.  So I recreated the scene to see how this could have happened or if it was my imagination but I know I was touched!  I put my mattress with my sleeping bag back in place and then checked it out.  There is no doubt about the shoulder touch.  It had touched me even though there is the rainfly.  Where I was positioned it was possible.  Now the foot incident was a bit discerning to me.  I suspect it tried to grabbed my foot by reaching in under the rainfly.  I did not realize where my feet was positioned  it was right under the edge of the rainfly.  Very easy for it to happened and feasible.

To me this was a game changer here at Roo's Place.  This physical touching is a new dimension and makes me a bit nervous.  I was not expecting this and not sure how I feel.  The one thing I did realize as I was driving home from Roo's Place was that even though I had a friend there, I was alone in the tent with just Roo.  What does this mean?

I have had many weird and scary moments in my journey of discovery.  Many questions and some heart felt moments.  So where does this journey go in regards to Roo's Place?  The one thing I do know-I will continue to go to Roo's Place.  I am ready to go to the next level.  Whatever that means.

So my friends-

SQUATCH ON!

Unexpected Results at New Location called Moonshine

Have you ever had an unexpected result
when you were not expecting it?

In the middle of June this had happened when I was asked to go camping with a friend and his daughters at a location near where one of his daughters had a sighting.  We had explored in that location last fall and wanted to camp there.  This was our first chance to do so.  Any time someone asks me to go camping and do some Bigfoot exploring, I'm in.  LOL  So Jon, Roo and I joined Bryan and his two daughters.

It was love at first sight with Roo and the girls.  I think Roo would have brought them home with us if she could.  This weekend was a few first for the girls in regards to experiencing Bigfoot stuff.  They had an interest in Bigfoot because of their father Bryan.  They were eager to learn and had some good questions.  My kind of people.  Plus they knew how to play Phase 10.

Friday night not much happened except for someone or something opening one of the plastic tubs.  Then walked around the tents and the campsite.  We had no damage and nothing was missing.  Also we were under a fire ban.  So we did not have a campfire.  That was OK.  We still talked Squatch and about other things.

Saturday we did some exploring and then played some Phase 10.  It was the nighttime that was very interesting.  In this next picture look closely.  I thought our campsite was on a ridge and it went down to a ravine behind the campsite.  It does but it had something else I did not realized until later.  It made me realize how much our hairy forest friends use the environment to their advantage and we humans are very clueless.  LOL

Do you see the ridge?  It is close and almost the same height as our campsite.
It is about 40 yards away.  Remember that.

The moon was very pretty that night.  It was a very bright crescent shaped moon.  As we walked around on the forest road in the dark, I was trying to use my different settings to take photos in the dark.  I have not had much success but I liked to try.  One of the settings uses a flash before going off and it is a setting for taking pictures in the dark.  I tried to take a picture of my tent showing the glow of the small light I had turned on.  I wasn't able to take any good photos.  When we walked back to the campsite I told everyone how the moon looked cool and wanted to try to take a picture of it.  It was positioned at the back of the campsite to the left and 3/4 of the way up in the above picture.

I took a couple of pictures but they were blurry so I decided to try to take a picture of the moon with the dark setting that had a flash.  Mind you, all I was thinking of was trying to take a picture of the moon.  I did not think about if there were any Bigfoots watching us from that direction.  Earlier we had seen some white eye shine back across the forest road and behind the cars.  Not in this direction.

So I took a picture and was upset I did not have a picture of the moon!  So I took another one.  When I looked at what I took, I thought I got something that may have been eye shine!  So I took some more.  Then there was nothing in my last picture.  I was thinking we had one possibly 2 in the trees watching us.  I was pretty excited.  Then suddenly we had some red eye shine right in front of me.  Then it flared up and I saw both eyes.  One of the girls and I think Bryan were able to see the eye shine before it went away.   I personally think it was letting me know it was not happy with the flashes from my camera.  I told them I was sorry and will not do that again with my camera.  That red eye shine is in my top 5 of the best eye shine ever.  Again I was thinking they were in the trees.

We were pretty excited because both girls were able to see eye shine that night and one of them saw the red eye shine too.  They were perplexed because what would have made this eye shine?  We went through all of the possibilities and there was none.  I knew because I have seen it many times and does have a distinctive look to it.  Much like LED lights but twinkles and can flare up when you talk to it or go closer.  It is even more distinctive when you see it blink.  The girls were excited because they have now seen eye shine.  We were all excited about what we saw and I may have caught the eye shine on camera.  I would have to wait until I get home to check my photos on my computer.

We had a young small bear come into our campsite Sunday morning.  That was a first for me.  Bryan was able to scare it off.  It was behind my car.

It was Sunday morning when I realized that Bigfoot were not in the trees watching us with their eye shine!  There was a ridge about 40 yards away and a perfect spot to watch us or any campers there.  So we talked about coming back and named the location Moonshine.  Because I was trying to take pictures of the moon and got Bigfoot eye shine instead.  LOL

This will be the only time with me trying to get pictures like that.  I am not into trying to capture a photo of them or tricking them to get one.  The main reason is that I know they are real and my journey is to learn more about them.  Not to prove or make a circus out of them.  I want experiences with them and if lucky to build a positive relationship with them.  Unfortunately with me taking those pictures I have put myself at a disadvantage with them.  It will be my intent to NOT carry my camera around at night and to keep it in my pocket at the campsite.  I will take pictures of the beauty of Colorado and my beloved Roo or any physical evidence such as prints or structures.  I will have to make amends and hopefully I can do this correctly in their eyes.  I truly believe they are a wild human with human intelligence.  So I will have to appeal to their curiosity and their primate/hominid characteristics.  Make them realize that I am not a threat to their family.

If you want to see the pictures of the red eye shine they are not on the blog.  I did get 3 photos of red eye shine but I am choosing to keep them in my collection of evidence.  Why am I doing this?  Partly to show my intent of what I am about in my journey of discovery.  It is my personal journey and I am not doing this to prove anything.  Even if I had managed to get a photo of one, I would not share it.  I feel if I do share it then my intent and the direction of my journey will be not be what my heart says and what I want to accomplish.  My actions and the choices I make does color my intent.  How can I go back and try to establish a positive relationship with that group if I am secretly publishing the photos when they have no say over them?  I would not like that myself, so that is why I am choosing to keep the photos and not to publish them.

In my next post, I will be telling you about my next camping trip at Roo's Place.  On this camping trip, Jon did not go and only Roo and I was in my tent.  I think the group there had decided to take our relationship to the next level.  I am not sure I am ready.  Until the next post...

First Camping Trip to Roo's Place the Weekend of June 8

Three of my friends from Nebraska came to spend the weekend with me at Roo's Place.  They had such a fun time that they were wanting to come back.  I am glad they did.  I did warn them that usually the first camping weekend there are typically quiet.  It ended up being a good weekend not as busy with Bigfoot activity we sometimes get there but we had some action.

This was Cassie's first trip to Roo's Place so we showed her some of the structures that are very close.

We also found a print.

We had some knocks and eye shine each night.  We found a quartz bed not too far from Roo's Place.  Cassie loved the quartz!  In fact the last night they were there I wasn't with them.  I had to go home because I had to go to work on Monday.  It was hard to leave them there.  I have never had others stay without me there.  They were a little nervous but all was good.  When they got up in the morning there was some quartz left for Cassie!  I guess the group there thought she needed more and had gifted her with some.

She wasn't the only one that was given a gift...

As I came up from the structure where most of the marble stuff has happened, there was a feather right on the pathway.  It was not there 30 minutes before when I went down to the structure and I went the exact way.  This is the first for me to receive a feather from the group there at Roo's Place!  I have received feathers over the years from the group at my special spot.  But that is another location and another group.

So for the first 2018 camping weekend at Roo's Place had turned out to be more active than I had anticipated.  I even warned my friends not to expect much.  LOL

So my friends

SQUATCH ON!

My next camping trip was about 10 miles from Roo's Place where a friend's daughter had a sighting when she was about 11 years old.  This place has the potential to be as active as Roo's Place.  I can't wait to share that weekend with you.
